We have a pretty simple block this week with some Half Square Triangles and squares. I grabbed a blue from Month 1 for the corner squares.
You will need 3 Colors and a Background Fabric.
Fabric A - Color 1
Fabric B - Color 2
Fabric C - Color 3
Fabric D - Background
Cutting:
Fabric A - Cut 4 - 4 1/2" squares
Fabric B - Cut 1 - 4 1/2" square
Fabric C - Cut 2 - 5" Squares
Fabric D - Cut 2 - 5" squares
Sewing:
Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of the 2 Fabric D 5" squares.
Place the 2 Fabric D squares, right sides together with the Fabric C squares. Chain piece these, sewing 1/4" on either side of the drawn line.
Cut these apart on the drawn line.
Press toward Fabric C. You will have 4 slightly oversized Half Square Triangles.
Trim these 4 Half Square Triangles down to 4 1/2".
Layout the pieces of your block as shown.
Sew these pieces together in rows. Press toward the Fabric A corner squares and the Fabric B center square.
Sew these rows together to complete your block. Press seams away from the center.
There you have it, Block 10 is complete.
Don't forget to post your block picture on the Ruth's Stitchery Facebook page to be entered into our March drawing!
